US layoff filings

Who's cutting in the US.

Every public WARN-Act notice from the state labor departments we cover, trended over time and broken out by state and affected company. WARN is a US-only statutory filing, so this view stays inside the US until other countries publish comparable data.

Methodology

Sources, scope, and refresh cadence. Layoff coverage is currently statutory US filings; broader country coverage is on the roadmap.

US state filings · WARN Act

  • WARN The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act requires employers to file 60-day advance notice of plant closings or mass layoffs (typically 50+ employees at a single site). Each US state publishes its own WARN dashboard or CSV; we scrape every state we cover and normalise filings into one stream.

Roadmap · rest of world

  • SOON Country-level OECD layoff and separations rates (already on the employment surface as layoffs-rate), plus statutory filings analogous to WARN where they exist (EU collective-redundancy notices in some member states, Korean MOEL notices, etc.).

Daily refresh across every covered state board; state revision windows differ. Filings are deduped by employer, site, and filing date, then rolled up by week for the timeline and by state for the map and region ranking.
